visiting willard home.
hi I am Alex and I went to willard home a few days ago we sung xmas songs it was fun.
The old people started to sing along it was nice and the old people were nice it read a book to the people. I was nice because it was quiet.

Design Brief
We want a decorative model that can be put on top of the shelves by the windows. The model needs to be:

- Made from cardboard
- A flat pack design
- Good enough to go in a shop
We had a go at following instructions to make a flat pack Christmas Tree. We used this concept to help us to create our own flat pack using the design process.
As part of the design process we created prototypes and reflected on what worked and what didn't.

SPORT START
This term our class has been using Sports Start. We are getting better at these skills:
- running
- catching
- passing
- throwing
- jumping
- fast reactions
- batting
Our class has been playing Diamond Ball which is like Baseball/Softball.
I have improved with catching

Moon Writing
One million years ago there was no moon. Until an asteroid hit the earth. Part of the earth came off and grew into the moon. The part that got destroyed regrew. Alex, Liam and Elliot felt sad for earth.

Planet Earth & Beyond Pre Assessment

My Learning Goals
Description:
Today we looked through our reports from last year. We identified a next step (goal) for reading, writing and maths. Here are my goals:
Maths: My next step is to use my knowledge of what makes 10 to solve equations like 86+?=90
To achieve this goal I will: I will learn my number bonds to 10.
Reading: My next step is to make mature conclusions about texts.
To achieve this goal I will: I will use key information to talk about what I have read.
Writing: My next step is to edit thoroughly without being prompted.
To achieve this goal I will: When I have finished reading, I will read it out loud to check for full stops, capital letters, & spelling errors.
We also looked at our STAR results.
- Word recognition I got 9 out of 10.
- Sentence comprehension I got 9 out of 10.
- Paragraph comprehension I got 0 out of 15.
- Vocabulary I got 4 out of 10.
I am going to focus on: Paragraph Comprehension

Music
In music with Jenny we are learning to play in a band. We are all learning different instruments and we are working on our rhythm. Check out our videos:

Active Listening
We are learning about different types of listening. There are 3 main types of listening that we learnt about.
Busy Listening - When the person listening is busy doing something. They are too busy to concentrate on what is being said.
Me Too Listening - When the person listening has a story that they feel is more important than the person talking so they interrupt and share their story instead of listening.
Active Listening - When the person listening looks at the person talking, concentrates, gives non-verbal feedback (e.g. nodding) and asks questions about the story.

As a class we are all trying to get better at being active listeners.
My Maths Learning
We are learning to use repeated addition to solve multiplication problems. Using the animal strips makes it easier to skip count using the number line.

Van Gogh Inspired Art
We are learning to paint like Van Gogh. We have read lots of books and watched some tutorials. We've experimented with painting our portraits and now we have had a go at painting sunflowers.
